Joining the other similarly-premised, 1992 thrillers, Single White Female and The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, Unlawful Entry can’t claim its premise to be unique. However, it is still an effective watch, especially if you enjoyed the previously-mentioned films above, or 1990’s similarly-plotted Pacific Heights. 2008’s Lakeview Terrace owes its foundations to this one, as well.
The real gem of the film is getting to appreciate the terrifyingly charismatic performance from the late, great Ray Liotta.
Liotta may bring his usual unhinged acting to a frightening role, but rest assured that you won’t be frightened by anything that happens to the scene-stealing Orange Domestic Longhair pet cat, who is always able to find cuddles even as the final credits start rolling.
Keep aware if stalking, copaganda, or sexual violence are your pinned trigger categories.
