In the 22nd century, a paraplegic Marine is dispatched to the moon Pandora on a unique mission, but becomes torn between following orders and protecting an alien civilization.
Absolutely. Graphically. Animals being impaled, burned alive, slit their throats. If this is a major trigger of course wouldn't recommend this film at all
A soldier in power armor is trampled underfoot by a large alien animal during a battle scene, the canopy of the cockpit they operate in is crushed in the process. It's a quick and bloodless scene but it's implied that he's killed in the moment.
a bad guy in a mech suit is stamped on by an elephant type creature in the final battle, also in the final battle another bad guy is crushed in between two pallets of c-4
After a climactic battle, Jake starts to suffocate due to being exposed to Pandora's poisonous atmosphere. He briefly passes out before being saved by Neytiri shortly after.
Not exactly cheating. Two people are destined to marry (the Na’vi equivalent of, anyway) but one falls in love with another before this happens. The other feels and displays feelings of betrayal.
No, but some of the animals (the Banshees and 'horses') on Pandora have some sort of holes in their bodies that they use to breathe. Could be triggering to some.
The Avatars are genetically-engineered Navi-Human hybrids that are mentally controlled by humans using special technology, but the Avatars themselves supposedly have no mind or consciousness of their own.
While it may not technically be a meltdown.. after Hometree is destroyed and Neytiri's father dies, when Jake tries to comfort Neytiri, she turns on him screaming. She shouts and screams at him to leave and never come back before cradling her dead father sobbing loudly into the sky.
Also beforehand when Neytiri learns that Jake and Grace knew that the RDA was planning to attack if they didn't leave their home, she starts to breakdown, yelling and crying that she trusted him. He tries to explain, as well as Grace, but Neytiri cuts them off with a shout shoving Jake and saying he will never be one of the People. She is crying and shrugs off her mother's attempt to comfort her as well.
There is no gender dysphoria. Votes/replies of yes are mixing up with the term "gender dysphoria" with body dysmorphia based around the main character's paralysis in his own body but being able-bodied in his Na'vi body.
Jake briefly mentions his reality becoming confusing, he says something about "out their being real life and here being a dream" hes not taking care of his human body properly because of this
Not exactly but! white humans control Na'vi avatar bodies which clearly look different than their human bodies. The Na'vi, although alien, are clearly inspired/based off multiple IRL Native American groups.
Later, Jake is able to transfer his consciousness/soul into a Na'vi body. Movie also leans heavily into the white saviour trope by Jake saving all Na'vi from the bad humans. He also gets the title of Toruk Makto, something not many Na'vi get to claim.
The same physical connection that equates a sexual relationship between Na’vi is made between many Na’vi and the wildlife of Pandora. This isn’t for the same purposes and isn’t portrayed as bestiality whatsoever.
There aren't any actual incestuous relationships shown, but one character was supposed to marry her brother according to her tribe's traditions, but she fell in love with someone else and no actual romantic or sexual stuff between the siblings was shown
This is a tough one.... We are not sure if the main character is but later in the film they say "we are mated for life" insinuating that Na'vi people are chaste
