I had to walk out of this movie at one point. The main horse “character” gets spooked and runs across the field of battle: trenches, rows of barbed wire, etc. picking up several strands of barbed wire across his chest as he goes. It was horrible to watch and very upsetting. There is a lot of animal mistreatment throughout the whole movie. I understand that the movie is showing the truth of how animals were treated at that time-largely as disposable tools-but still not what I expected.
