The Comedian murders by gunshot a woman pregnant with his child and heavily implied to be his former lover. Before this she cuts him across the face with a broken bottle.
Doctor Manhattan, right after his creation, is shown as a wandering, glowing partially formed body. He is nothing but a nervous system in one scene. Humans and animals are also disintegrated.
Arguably, yes. One of the main characters narrates to the viewer, but it could be interpreted as just standered narration. It did make me uncomfortable though.
Graphic scene (aftermath) of homophobic violence including slurs in the opening montage. Would recommend skipping if you are sensitive to that content (nothing nearly as graphicly homophobic in the rest of the film).
at the start the word r-tarded is said, one of Rorschach's bullies calls him the r-word, when the kid is reading a comic a gang member calls him the r-word
The ending is rather notorious for its ambiguity. While it's shown that the world is a better" place, it's unclear whether it'll last. Additionally, the fates of each main character range from happy to depressing.
SPOILER there's the threat of nuclear bombs throughout the whole film, but actually the explosions at the end are not nuclear. They are caused by dr manhattan's energy. They look more like electric powers, too.
