I find that scene very disturbing. It looked real to me. I'm particularly worried because during the time this film was made I don't imagine there was much concern about the wellbeing of animals. I hesitate rewatching Gone with the wind for this reason. I love the rest of it, but I can't cope with that scene with the horse. I wish someone would be able to set my mind at rest about what really happened with the poor horse. I can't watch without knowing...
