A man threatens, intimidates and slaps his wife. She says, "That's the last time you've hit me", and when he says he's sorry, she replies, "You're always sorry". At one point, she says, "You don't love me; you just want to control me". All this (and more?) makes it clear that it's a case of ongoing abuse and violence. At one point, while pointing a gun loosely in her direction, he asks her if she's been sleeping with someone and adds that he'd rather see her dead (and we find out later that he truly meant it). He has her followed by a private investigator to find out if she's cheating.

Very much so. One car is set on fire, goes over a cliff with an unconscious person inside it, falls a loooong way, then explodes. Another car - no persons inside it - is accidentally set in motion and rolls slowly downhill, ending up in a lake, in which it eventually sinks. We don't know how deep the fall is, but the scream we hear before the thud from him hitting the ground is rather short.
