Thanks for bravely watching echo and letting us know Gary was ok in the end! I did cry some at the beginning when they described Gary's humble beginnings, but overall I think the episode was worth the tesrs. I suspect, that the writers of this series is one of us!
in the medical examiner's office, the body from earlier is shown and is missing the head as one of the doctors reconstructs the skull. the actual act of removing the head is not shown.
the beginning few minutes show Gary’s early life as a puppy - his back legs were lame back then and it shows him being sad that he can’t play with his siblings and he watches them get adopted one by one. then the owner dumps him outside a shelter that has a sign saying it’s a kill shelter. he gets away but lives his first year on the streets sad and alone.
