Sophie O’Neill and her family move from the East Coast to deep East Texas, where she succumbs to socialite Margo's irresistible charms – and finds her life consumed by obsession, seduction and murder.
Uh, "Pastor Peter" is into high school girls and he forcibly takes a teen named Nina away in his car after drugging her. The episode ends, but I think that he plans to rape an underage girl.
When Pete gives Nina a small bottle of (supposedly) vodka at the fair, it has drugs in it. After a few mins she starts to feel woozy and then starts to pass out.
Prior comments are accurate for the first half of the season. In the second half, there is an entire plotline surrounding a man who grooms teen girls with the intention of sexually assaulting them. One girl is drugged on screen, and another is discovered abducted, with the implication that he assaulted both of them.
While there isn’t any torture on screen necessarily, there’s hinted torture after a certain character dies. A young girl recounts what happened to her and another girl while being held captive, and it alludes to that.
S1E4 timestamp 11:48 into the episode !!! no audio trigger but FULL visual injection.
callie visits her husband (the sheriff's) office and after a bit of dialogue she says "i brought your medicine." LOOK AWAY after this line. her husband bends over the table, she pulls out a syringe, and injects it into his ass :(
SPOILER: While a suspect is being chased down a highway with a U-Haul attached, he gets pulled over by the cops and shoots himself in the head to avoid arrest. You see it happen on screen.
During the vigil there is a LOT of flash photography. I can handle some camera flashing, but this was enough that it got to me (the police lights at the end probably didn't help, but they weren't the main thing).
There are several scenes at church, characters praying, and characters talking about their religious beliefs. There is also a very predatory youth pastor
