A warlock flees from the 17th to the 20th century, with a witch-hunter in hot pursuit. A Warlock is taken captive in Boston, Massachusetts in 1691 by a witch-hunter Giles Redferne. He is sentenced to death for his activities, including the bewitching of Redferne's bride-to-be, but before the execution a demon appears and propels the Warlock forward in time to 20th century Los Angeles, California.
This movie contains 13 potentially triggering events.
a gay man is murdered (finger cut off, tongue bitten out) and police interview his tenant about him with horrible stereotypes and biases, asking for information about his sexual partners, whether he frequented public parks; even as his tenant "defends" him, she does so by arguing that he didn't sexually abuse minors (in very graphic terms), and then by saying that he was gay, "not queer. big difference". very offensive sequence
A cat is placed in a basket with other cats in it and put on top of a pyre being set up to burn a warlock alive. While the burning is halted by the escape of the warlock we don’t know what happened to the cats.
Towards the end in the fight sequence the warlock sticks his hand in redferne’s mouth, when redferne gets away he gags and seems to expel the warlock’s magic which is the same incredibly fake looking fire warlock wields with his hands. I’m extremely easily triggered but was not at all bothered by this scene
