HORSES DIED FOR REAL DURING FILMING !! Extreme abuse and they murdered horses during production. The horses who died on screen died in real life!

I could not find any sources for the claim that horses died during the filming of the 1959 version. The other commenter seems to have mixed it up with the 1925 version of Ben-Hur; the director of the older version was known for abusing and killing horses during production.
