A woman seeks vengeance on a victim of her pedophile husband after he's imprisoned and takes his own life, unleashing a twisted trail of violence against the girl's family.
But the children are ignored and mistreated throughout, especially the baby, and talk of abuse and the foster system and children being alone towards the end. All very very sad and triggering
Mention of childhood sexual abuse, children are ignored and mistreated throughout the movie. Towards the end the young daughter is accidentally punched in the face, resulting in a black eye. She is also manipulated throughout. She is also witness to truly horrific body injuries at the end... very tough to see a young kid exposed to all that.
Non specified sexual abuse, so possibly yes, airing on the side of caution with this one. An abuse description is detailed at the end and its very triggering and sad.
Two major scenes that were reeeeeally disturbing. When Polly goes to see the man friend and she runs to the bathroom- skip ahead because there's a horrific, graphic murder. Also at the end- when Polly is hitting the windshield and the mom backs the car out- just skip to the next scene. Polly's injuries literally made me feel faint and kept me up all night, after.
First comment is extremely vague. More details: the nanny spikes the food which the main character serves to the whole family. Nothing happens till the next morning. The mother wakes up, looks ill, runs to the bathroom and we see her bent over the toilet from behind. No visuals of the act but graphic sounds and some aftermath is seen on the toilet. Lasts about 3-5 seconds. Then she hears her daughter call for her, she runs to the next room and the nanny says the little girl has t*u. We see her crying with some aftermath on her clothes. Then we hear the baby crying in the next room and it’s assumed the baby is ill too but we don’t see anything. The nanny says she is going to be s* and runs out of the room. Nothing else is seen or heard.
Not disordered, but a main character is extremely strict about sugar intake etc with their kid, and is later shown sneaking candy while alone in their car - could be triggering
There's a conversation with a 10 year old who is questioning their sexuality but it's quickly established that they aren't distressed about their body/not questioning being trans
