By spending time with Woe and training with him, Chirin comes to see Woe as a father, renouncing his prior promise to kill Woe when he became strong enough. Even when he does kill Woe in the end, he bitterly regrets doing so.
The baby lamb tries to save a bird, but fails, and has a meltdown about the weak ones dying brutally. He questions nature, pleads for strength, goes through rage and sadness. Wolf eventually takes him in after watching the lamb shake, scream and bawl.
The ram has to kill his father figure to save his childhood home, only to be rejected and feared by the sheep he saved. Losing his identity, he becomes the new "lone wolf" of the mountain
