In the pilot, Carl is seen with a blowtorch and a stray kitten, clearly with the intent to kill it.

I haven’t watched all of shameless, but what I know is that the father is an alcoholic who cannot properly care for his children or himself.

it’s a running theme through the show and alcoholism runs in the family. it’s unavoidable in this show

Spoilers. Major plot point in a later season. Not a major character.

Because there is alcohol in a lot of episodes, there is occasional vomit scenes but the worst one in my experience is S3 E12. A character vomits blood profusely, the only scene I had to turn it off.

In season 2, episode 11, Monica attempts suicide. Frank has a history of alcoholism that continues throughout the show. Lip is also an alcoholic, which is focused on later in the show.

Mandy’s dad sometimes mistakes her as her mom and forces her to have sex

(TW: Sexual assault): It is revealed that Mandy Milkovich is pregnant with her father's child because he "gets drunk and mistakes her for her mom". Mickey Milkovich is forced to have sex with a female prostitute by his father when his dad catches him having sex with another man. Frank Gallagher at one point is under the influence of powerful drugs and Karen Jackson has sex with him on camera and posts it to the internet. Debbie Gallagher r*pes her "boyfried" at the time while he's drunk. (These are all the instances I can think of)

There isn't enough time for me to outline every sexual encounter on the show. If graphic nudity/sex scenes bother you, I recommend not watching the show at all, because they are almost unavoidable.

The most frequent occurrence is directed towards Ian or Monica due to their bipolar disorder.

The show is not yet finished, so there is no way to know if there is a happy ending or not. as of november 24, 2018, they are still making the show.

Yes, basically every parent of the main cast is abusive. Frank and Monica are both neglectful alcoholics, and Frank is verbally abusive as well. Terry Milkovich is verbally and physically abusive, r-pes his daughter, forces his son to have sex with a prostitute and threatens his son with a gun multiple times. There are multiple references to other abusive and neglectful parents throughout the show -- if parental abuse is a trigger for you, I would strongly caution against watching this show, because it's in basically every episode.
