This movie contains 21 potentially triggering events.
A bunch of alien dog/horse saddle animals that are used in racing and mistreated are set free and have quite the fun stampeding in the process. One of them is shown having scars on his neck, but they are not hurt or killed in the process.
There is a plot point where two of the main characters rescue some alien creatures who are being used as race horses (and mistreated with electric shocks.)
A small bird-like creature is shown roasted ( probably not alive ) and about to be eaten, while a relative of its looks on sorrowfully. The eating isn't shown, and it is implied that the would-be diner is shamed into not doing so.
SPOILERS: In the throne room scene, Snoke uses the Force to go through Rey’s memories & knowledge of Luke Skywalker; it is obviously extremely painful, as Rey is unable to hold back her scream.
Kylo Ren almost kills his mother Leia by destroying part of her spaceship that she is in, but restrains himself. His evil companions shoot the ship anyway and Leia's body is flung violently from the ship, but she saves herself.
Technically none of these three things happen but Luke milks a strange alien and then drinks the green milk fresh so I think that falls under this category.
There is, but it doesn't resemble any hospital in the real world at all. Finn is hooked up in a suit with bacta/healing liquid flowing into it via tubes.
Two characters attempt "suicide runs" in order to save many lives. One is successful, the other is prevented by a friend. Neither do so out of a sense that their life is bleak.
A latino character struggles and grows, becoming a better person, and a better character, in the process. The same can be said for many of the heroes in the story.
Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo has a heroic death scene and is heavily implied to be pansexual in one of the canon novels ("You only like human males, Leia? How limiting!")
