It seemed more like an execution to me, but they’re saved right before it happens. I’d say the closest the film gets is killing off Rose’s sister (but this isn’t fridging as this advances Rose’s story, not a man’s) and having Leia end up comatose, which does affect a man’s story but only in the sense that his general is replaced by someone else.
