The Holy Roman Empire, and all of the character's biological parents (those who have them, at least) die. While they are offscreen, they set a lot of things into motion during the span of the show.

I'm not sure if this counts for some people, but neglect counts for me. England neglected responsibility for America, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand when they were kids, forcing most of them (especially New Zealand) to grow up fast. Romano also seems to not be liked or appreciated by Rome, as he never gets visits from him or talks about him much.

Ukraine's depiction was handled very poorly during the first Season or two, and she was often shown as a crybaby who missed Russia. If you know anything about the Soviet Union and their history, you can see why this is wrong.

France attempts to declothe England at the Olympics. The scene itself is played off as a joke and France is stopped by Switzerland, but it is to be noted nonetheless.

A lot more explicit in the webcomic than the anime, but the anime has its fair share of sexual assault jokes (some of which are ramped up and/or made more explicit in the English dub). Definitely check unconsentingmedia.org for details because explaining it here would take up half the page

Not in the show proper, but a popular ship in the fandom is Spamano (Spain x Romano/South Italy). The thing is, Romano was a child when Spain was an adult.

Not sure about the show, but there are some manga panels from back in the day that joke about France and Spain sexually assaulting Italy as a child. Whether this extends to rape or not I have no idea.

America is the worst offender. In nearly every scene he's in he's noisily eating, sometimes even talking with his mouth full. It made his rendition of Marukaite Chikyuu nearly impossible to listen to for me because of this.

In one episode, Liechtenstein makes a set of matching pajamas for herself and Switzerland (her older brother) but accidentally mixes up the presents and gives him the one that was meant for her. Switzerland doesn't have any shame in this, however. And while I can't recall if any other characters made a joke at his expense, the main takeaway from that scene is that Switzerland cares so much for Liechtenstein that he'll wear anything given to him by her, even girly pajamas.

Possibly HRE, but whether he's dead and/or LGBT is arguable. First off, while it's heavily implied he passed away after the end of the Chibitalia subplot, this is not explicitly stated in the show itself (it was explicitly stated in the webcomic, but only in an inaccessible and deleted strip that was never finished, and might not be canon). Second, while he had a crush on Italy, who's a boy and reciprocated (Italy confirms this a second time in Beautiful World), HRE believed that Italy was a girl. It's still possible he could be LGBT if you subscribe to the theory that he's Germany as a child (Germany tries to pursue a romantic relationship with Italy in Beautiful World), but if this theory is true, he's technically not dead.

Relies on equal opportunity stereotype humor (especially the English dub). In fact the manga had a depiction of South Korea that was considered offensive even by the manga’s standards (mostly to due with its realtionship with Japan) that the franchise was banned in the country and the character was removed from the anime

The show is actually relatively clean in this regard despite the initial setting of WW2, but there are some jokes in the dub that may come off as antisemitic.

There are only 3 black characters in Hetalia: One is a background character that talks to America in one scene, and the other two are side countries (Cuba and Seychelles). Note that Seychelles is not very dark despite representing an African country.

In the April Fools Episode of S5, most of the cast is either partially or fully nude, though it is censored. In the Chibitalia parts of the first seasons, HRE and Chibitalia are bathing in a river naked (though this is implied and heavily censored as they are children).
