Richard slaps his wife (or at least it's implied she's one of many wives) in the face after he sees that his brother has been kidnapped by Captain Alex and the commandos on the news. She walks in his room after returning from combat and sees him smashing the TV; they argue for a little bit, he slaps her and tells her to "get everyone together". Richard then shoots her in the following scene.

Yes there are shoot-outs and firearm combat in this movie. It's not very graphic; it's actors holding fake guns (seriously one of them looks like a bunch of pipes saudered together), gyrating their bodies to mimic shooting, and then flashes are added as after-effects to simulate bullets.

Captain Alex and his commandoes kidnap Richard's (leader of the enemy Tiger Mafia) during their first shootout early in the film. In return, the Tiger Mafia infiltrate Captain Alex's camp during the night and kidnaps two of the commandoes.
Later in the film, Richard's wife has a flashback to when she was first kidnapped by the Tiger mafia. She is tied up and tortured until she agrees to marry Richard.
