There are pumpkin spiders but they are quite cartoonish, literally looking like they are pumpkins, they never bite you, they only run way and can be caught with a net. They are them put into the nature preserve where they permanently stay, this is required to complete the game. It might be best to look up a picture of them before buying, playing or watching this game if you are unsure, but it is no where near as scary in my opinion as the spiders in Animal Crossing New Horizons.

For me, the Worm tail and the Pollen in the Merry Meadow are triggering. A way around is to ask an NPC you're good friends with to collect the items for you.
