Book 1: There is a flashback to Celaena's traumatic loss of her parents as a child but neither of them actively die in the scope of this story. This is usually a trigger for me but it was gently led up to enough that it was easy to see it coming and deal with it.
When one of the main characters becomes disabled, his disability as a whole is framed very negatively and it is considered the ultimate triumph for him to be "cured" (which is done through magic).
