An alive fish is being carried to the kitchen by a man with bare hands. You can see the fish opening and closing the mouth trying to breathe. I loved the movie but this scene made me look away.

There are bugs surrounding many of the scenes, as this is Italy in the summer, but no graphic up close bug shots

No one abuses alcohol but there is a scene where the 2 main characters are drunk and one throws up rather suddenly

There is a seconds-long-shot of Elio shaving his barely-there mustache in front of a mirror.

Elio has a girlfriend, Marzia, and doesn't break up with her when he starts seeing Oliver. YMMV on whether this counts as cheating since it's not clear whether Elio and Marzia's relationship is a serious or committed one.

Elio becomes infatuated with Oliver and indulges in some mildly stalker-like behaviour (eg. sneaking into Oliver's room to put Oliver's boxer shorts over his face). It is presented as benign, never turns controlling or menacing, and Oliver is mostly flattered.

Near the end of the film, Armie Hammer's character dances with a woman while Timothee Chalamet's character watches. When we cut from Armie dancing with the woman in front of a door to Timothee, he suddenly and unexpectedly vomits. It's over fairly quick, but surprising and very visible.

YMMV, but it was fairly mild from what I recall. My partner who gets nausea and headaches from shaky cam didn't have a problem with this film.

There are sex scenes but absolutely everything is consensual.

No LGBT characters die. Also, there's no mention of HIV/AIDS despite being a film about gay/bisexual men in the 80s - which is kind of refreshing.

[SPOILERS] The lovers do not stay together in the end. However, to me, the ending was still hopeful. You have the sense that the relationship has been a positive experience overall, and Elio has his whole life ahead of him to meet other people and continue to explore his sexuality.
