I wouldn't call them abusive, but you have to wonder what goes on in Dora's parents' heads for them to be okay with their young daughter exploring the rainforest without adult supervision. At least Diego and Alicia are older and have training!

Depends on which angle you’re talking about. The show of course did mean a lot to Hispanic/Latino children albeit sometimes aspects of Hispanic culture are oversimplified for the sake of the child audience to the point where it can come across as a bit stereotypical
