I don't know what the other review is talking about, but the child in question behaves as a child with disabilities, and the parents respond with frustration that often comes along with raising a child you have difficulty communicating with. The child is never abused, unless you think a parent becoming frustrated is abusive.

Rosie hits and bites her parents often through the show (so that includes Em’) not bad but sometimes it may be a lot. If you haven’t seen the show Rosie is only a child there is no adults hitting other adults.

I didn’t know where to put this but for people who struggle with self harm, in the special you see Rosie banging her head a lot on different surfaces and this gets to the point of Simon holding and restricting her in his arms kind of like a hard bear hug while sitting down. Eventually they move into the lounge room sitting on the couch in the same position. Rosie takes an opening in Simons arms and she picks up what looks like a book and uses that to start hitting her head again. Simon cry’s saying “hurt me please hurt me not yourself” the scene cuts off. They talk about this later but there is no more after that.
Personally I had to take a second after it but everyone is different. Skin does not break and you don’t see any bruising.

When Rosie gets her period, her mother suggests putting her on the pill as shes severely learning disabled. Her dad then makes a gross sexual joke/comment about his daughter, i dont think the character intended it in a weird way, but it made me feel sick

First episode Rosie spits out spaghetti with sauce onto the table, not very triggering but is gross and since it’s not expected if you’re already on alert this could upset you
ON THE SPECIAL
Nobody actually vomits but Rosie makes a gagging noise over food a few times, it’s not too bad and only happens about three times. These are all when food is out I front of her face.
Be warned it’s pretty much the first thing you see though.

This is all one scene:

Eventually they move into the lounge room sitting on the couch in the same position. Rosie takes an opening in Simons arms and she picks up what looks like a book and uses that to start hitting her head again. Simon cry’s saying “hurt me please hurt me not yourself” the scene cuts off. They talk about this later but there is no more after that.
No skin breaks and there isn’t bruising from what happens. I’ll also add that when they are still in her room she breaks free a few times and uses different surfaces/objects.

A grotesque amount of it. Be very careful watching it bc its very triggering.
(spoiler warning)
Varies from very insensitive and horrifying jokes about intellectual disability inclusive in front of the child, too much slurs, parental abuse and neglect, threats of parents leaving and divorce bc of the disabled child, ableism in public spaces and school system. The show is a lot about ableist parents not wanting to deal with their disabled child, has a lot of ideas of the child being a weight. They say a lot about how much they wanted a normal child and that their disabled child is a "duty". Some eugenics ideas run around too. Has some nuances and some learning curve for them but not thaaat much of progress.

References to genitalia is often mentioned in the dialogue, rather in a vulgar way.
In the episode "President's Day" (S2 E2,) Rosie scrolls through her camera roll on her tablet when a picture of a sex toy appears on the tablet's screen.
