What a wonderful experience this series was to watch. Layered, highly-intelligent writing brings depth to this Marvel Superhero series that really isn’t about superheroes. You can feel the passion that went into this project, with some moments coming across less as story arcs and more like real Hollywood experiences for the creators.
Like Simon Williams feeling born to play Wonder Man, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is definitely born to play Simon Williams/Wonder Man. Paired with the always great Sir Ben Kingsley, these two buddies make you truly invested in their characters, wanting them to find success and happiness at all costs.
Only 30 minutes an episode for 8 episodes makes this an easy watch for the casual viewers, (No previous Marvel experience required) and the subscribers on Does The Dog Die will be especially grateful for a series that has so few triggering moments.
