while DMP is primarily an audio medium some specific sound effects and sequences can be violent and unsettling - some specific examples being cutaux reforming himself after being flayed alive, birder god tearing percy to shreds, and charlie's antilotus in which her wings are ripped off in a brutal sequence (this one does have visuals - bleeding wings with exposed bone)
yes, in a non-serious manner. zephirah, the cannibal god from another of ir's streams makes a cameo several times, eating grade to replace her. not graphic, and mostly played as a joke
In Thorin Blue's backstory reveal in Season 2's finale, their grandfather is depicted during the scenario previous to it and during the backstory itself to experience alzheimer's.
S4 Ep8 - VERY heavy TW for domestic abuse. the backstory in this episode contains extremely explicit themes of the such and there is a content warning in the episode itself
several characters in the show are extremely heavy drinkers. doc and vinny being the main ones. at heavier times in their respective arcs they can be framed as using alcohol in unhealthy coping mechanics - particularly doc on that point.
yes. the most prominent example that may be triggering is s2 ep4, where tommy is inflicted with thousands of paper cuts all over his body. there is a specific in episode warning for this
a staple and common occurrence of the show with many instances
episodes where torture and violence are especially heavy, in later episodes of the show get explicit content warnings attached to them
HE'S GOIN OVER THAT CLIFF AAH
also on a genuine serious note cassie jumps to her death in her backstory. it's never shown as a visual but very made clear that it happened
One random event in Discord Murder Party is the Pox, an incurable disease guaranteed to kill after a certain number of nights. While it is not any specific disease, it can be read as similar to cancer.
in addition, lots of characters deal with these general themes, not just MG. everyone in the cast has had some sorta breakdown at some point. this is an emotionally intense show.
i feel like trying to list specific examples here will just be listing like half the cast but i think charlie is probably the main one. just her entire show-long arc. it's all trauma all the way down.
the 4th wall in dmp is in a constant state of being shattered. characters do bits all the time directly addressing the audience in some tongue and cheek manners. MG canonically has a justification for why this show exists on twitch with an audience. CG addresses the audience so much, especially in his reveal where he directly calls out a million things related to the audience and show. this show does not have a 4th wall.
surrounding ezra crane, in both his arc including insults from his mother and in s4 ep2, where guy le cutaux removes wheelchair ramps in a petty dig at ezra
both permanently and not. many of the cast is lgbtq, and as is the nature of the show, they do come back. yugo hernandez is the only cast member to permanently die as of now, and is queer
EDIT: stay winning queers the gay is unburied he's fine
There is a scene in the second scenario where one person has s*x with someone else without their consent. This is an audio only show, so there was nothing seen. However, it did merit a disclaimer prior to the YouTube version due to the nature of the scene.
despite literally everything DMP has the most goddamn sugar-sweet "you will cry this is so happy" ending and it's absolutely brilliant. crimes trawczynski has never written a bad ending in her life and she's not about to start now. DMP is set up as a tragedy but MY GOD is it the least tragic show i've ever seen
Borderline - the title card for Discord Murder Party features blood, but it is not realistic, and due to the mainly audio-based nature of the games, no other blood or gore is seen.
not on camera as of yet. doctor mcgillicutty is mentioned multiple times to have worked on the manhatten project, and in s3 ep 3 it especially may be triggering to people worried about nuclear mentions as he goes on a long monologue about the topic. EDIT: in doc's backstory in s4 ep12 an actual explosion is in fact shown on screen. it's visualized in the art and there's a pretty heavy tinnitus sound effect
