Not directly, but basically all three children have a parent who have abandonded them. In ep 5, Shizuka goes to her dad’s place in the city only for him to answer the door with a baby in his arms, and a girl maybe a couple years younger than herself. They ask him who she is and he basically says he doesn’t know her.
