In the second game, a character is forced to slap his daughter against his will. A character in the fourth game will get into a violent fight with his brother and young son.
In Season 2, A father is forced against his will at gunpoint to slap his daughter in the face so hard she falls over. The eleven year old female protagonist also gets slapped in the face by an antagonist in the same episode.

This isn’t strictly true as Larry’s hatred stems from Lee being a convicted murderer and reckless decision maker, on top of Larry being a naturally hostile person to everybody except his daughter, although there are a couple suspect lines from Larry that could be interpreted as him being a racist as well.
A zombie bite is often considered 100% fatal except for specific situations. This is a common conflict in the story and shows up multiple times over multiple seasons.
Most characters are technically homeless and disheveled due to the nature of the zombie apocalypse. There are a number of more obvious "hobo" characters that were either homeless pre-apocalypse or choose to roam and steer free of communities.
