The small white dog is ok throughout though often left alone. The two Malinois dogs are drugged temporarily and one is punched in the face, but both are shown alert and ok afterwards.
Husband kills wife. He attempts to strangle her, she maces him and nearly gets away but he catches her then bashes her head in with a sculpture, extremely graphic. Between around 35-40 min mark don’t watch
S1E2 Niles eat basically a whole cooked chicken in a very grotesque way, and it is clearly the whole bird, including the head, which you see around the 21 minute mark. It doesn’t die on screen but the sounds of him eating it and the visuals of its body are unsettling.

There is a plot point about the main character not being home often enough to walk the dog or feed him on time. Once he pees inside and she comes home and apologizes to him for not being there — if this kind of thing makes you sad, it will definitely make you sad! Another time the dog goes to his food bowl but it’s empty because she hasn’t come home. Dog is ultimately fine.
Most of it is implied but if you’re squeamish then I’m ep 7 around the 36min mark when the art piece gets picked up just fast forward until about 41 minutes. A face gets smashed in violently and you actually see the aftermath of the body.
If you don’t like chewing sounds and/or graphic meat-eating, I’d recommend muting and/or looking away beginning at 19 minutes and 40 seconds in to episode 2. Graphic, loud scene of bone-in chicken being eaten in gross manner.
