Not on purpose. A wyvern steed's rider was said to be killed in an unseen backstory and the wyvern returned to her son alone.

A character is held captive in a major scene but chooses to kill herself instead of letting anyone else die in her stead. This sequence is animated but no gore is shown.

A couple interspecies relationships but only with anthromorphic characters that are sapient and can give consent…even if two of them look VERY much under the age of consent so some still technically fail the Harkness test but on the “maturity relative to their species” part which is a whole separate issue

Noire's Backstory is that she was used as a Guinea pig for her mother, Tharja's, experiments and that Tharja became cruel to Noire after her husband died. She still fears her mother's past self, and past! Tharja is only kinda better.

One of the playable characters, Panne, is a humanoid rabbit that can turn into a giant rabbit called a Taguel. Panne claims that her entire race was wiped out by an unknown group of humans and the perpetrators are never identified, with the plot point never being resolved.

Additionally both Panne and her potential son can die.

In one side conversation, the character Tharja, who has been stalking the protagonist ever since she met him/her, Comes across them sleeping, and sinisterly remarks that they are "helpless" before the scene ends; potentially implying she wants to/does assault them in their sleep.

One of the characters, Nowi, looks at most 14 years old and you are encouraged to pair her up with male characters as its the only way to get an extra character (Nah).

Nowi is a Dragon and technically a 1000 years old, with the english version of the game making her act more mature for her age, though even there in the DLC, it is discussed Nowi is not an adult by Dragon standards which are different from human standards. Her Japanese counterpart, NoNo, is more openly a child.

Additionally Ricken, whose age is unstated, but appears to be around 13 at most, can be paired with female characters, though it is assumed they don't marry until much later in a future timeline. Many people pair Ricken and Nowi together to get around the weirdness of pairing them.

One chapter has you defeat the enemy units by setting their boat on fire. Another chapter takes place in a volcano were characters may take damage from the lava. In neither case are the people burning alive explicitly shown, though.

Nowi is pretty infamous for kickstarting the "thousand year old dragon l*li" trend for the modern FE games and she is an especially egregious case with her rather revealing outfit and the fact that you can ship her with characters that look much older than her (at least physically)

One of the villains in the Japanese version, Excellus, is depicted as a hodgepodge of negative transgender/gay man stereotypes all put together and is depicted as an irredeemable character that threatens several other characters before being killed.

The english version toned this down, though they are still notably queer coded.

The child character Noire is a fairly cartoonish depiction that's largely played for laughs. It's kind of unclear whether her alter is the result of a curse or from the tremendous abuse she faced from her mother (or both).

If you select the eye icon while watching a battle animation, you are given a view of the battle from your unit's POV. This gets VERY shaky when you use it with a mounted unit, the worst cases being characters like Sumia, Cordelia, and Cherche, who are mounted on pegasi and wyverns that bob up and down.

In the Japanese version, yes, there is a villain that is a homophobic caricature that is ultimately killed and several heroic characters make homophobic remarks.

However these are completely removed in the US version, the homophobic comments made by the Hubba Tester are even made to be tolerant.

Tharja is implied to be bisexual, as she is obsessed with the player character regardless of gender. There are also a few other characters who are implied to be attracted to the same gender - e.g. Kjelle, who flirts with another woman after ingesting a truth serum in a DLC map. All of these characters *can* die due to the game's permadeath mechanic, but they're not really supposed to.

While it's not super egregious, the two most prominent dark skinned characters are part of a warrior race sometimes described as "barbaric." However they are good guys and are dependable allies to the protagonists, and even become playable later on.

You can hook characters that are in their teens (one of them being a thousand year old dragon girl that looks like a young child) up with much older characters, although nobody is making you (that said some players are sometimes tempted to do this for stat reasons)

If the player so chooses, they can pair together first cousins (Lucina and Owain) in the second generation. Note: in the English version, the romantic implications are removed and the characters are listed as being "Companions" instead of husband and wife.
