The character of "V", a thirteen year old girl is being molested by a priest. It is shown that he touches her neck and sort of massages her. In a later scene he tries to touch her some more, she pulls away, he grabs her arms as she resists more. Both characters a clothed, the scene is brief but the context is very clear and leaves no room for misinterpretation.

The priest who is a murderer hangs himself out of guilt. The moment of his hanging is shown via his shadow on a wall. It is very brief. In a diffrent scene the sheriff is found hanging from the ceiling of the sheriffs office, blood dripping from his mouth and with a news paper article attached to his chest where the word "guilty" is written in blood. Although his death isn't solved, it is pretty clear from the plot that he must have done it himself.

A priest makes lemonade with a group of orphaned children he is the caretaker of. One of the girls discoveres medicinal looking bottle near by and shows it to another girl. She tells her "don't drink the lemonade, he's trying to drug us". The girl yells to the other children to not drink the lemonade. The priest then forcefully pours the lemonade down a childs throat. In a later scene all the children a shown to lie on the floor, aranged in a circle, completly motionless and with closed eyes.

Towards the end of the movie the main character talks about how he feels guilty about his dauthers death. She died in a speedboat accident and he could have prevented that by acompaning her. Only he was drunk from the night before where he had been with another woman (who wasn't his wife, his dauthers mother). He only stammers "...I was with another woman." It never comes up again and doesn't seem relevant to the story at all.
