yes and no. it's never mentioned in the games, but dante was assaulted by a woman in the comics. it isn't handled in a funny manner, and possibly apart of why dantes personailty is the way it is. which is sad. but if you just play the games, you'll be fine. theres also a good anime (not the current one) from the 2000s which is decent as well i recommend.
edit: the animated series (not current one) does have a pretty triggering pair of comments said to dante by a prison warden. i'd be careful with it if i were you.
