Near beginning on the boat a lamb or calf is throw off into the sea and left. You hear it crying. Quite sad and unexpected.
At 0:36 a new born lamb is born disfigured and is dumped in a bucket to die.
At 1:52 a rabbit is killed.
Not necessarily brutalised but the protagonists sister is tied up and gagged, shown to everyone in the town and some kids are seen later tormenting her and prodding her while in public.
A main character is implied to have an addiction as they are shown repeatedly applying what looks to be laudanum (opiate tincture popular in the Victorian era) by small dropper onto their tongue.
00:07:09 - 00:07:29 A lamb falls in a lump onto the deck of the ship in a storm. It is soaking wet, hurt, terrified and bleating loudly. It continues crying as it is picked up and tossed off the back of the boat and into the raging sea. You still hear the terrified bleating for a few seconds after that then it goes quiet. It's a horrible 20 seconds.
00:36:06 - 00:37:00 Involving a calf or lamb being born. It was too horrible to watch but what I could make out in a glance or two was awful.
01:52:05 - 01:52:22 Torturing a rabbit with some kind of machine then slitting it's belly. You can hear the rabbit screaming and see it kicking. It is horrific.
None is shown, however, towards the beginning of the film, a man is taken away and beaten to death. One of his eyes appears to have experienced severe trauma during his beating, though no mutilation is depicted.
Someone does vomit early in the boat scene around 6 minutes and 42 seconds. The visual only lasts a few seconds. Unsure if audio is bad as my fiancé muted it for me.
There is no human birthing scene but there is one with a sheep. Later in the film, reference is made to a fetus being cut from the body of a pregnant girl.
