No dog dies onscreen, but in some scenes you possibly hear the barking of ghost dogs

Episode 9. It's murder in order to "save" them. Very big potential trigger. Also graphic discussion of other child murders.

Oh man. In episode 8 there is this one crazy jump scare that will make you pee your pants. If you don't want it to be spoiled for you stop reading. If you are scared and want to be ready for the jumpscare, it happens in s1ep8 when adult Theo and Shirley are arguing in the car and Nellie's ghost unexpectedly shows up

Fingers are sliced accidentally on a fan blade. We see the injury very graphically

The one that comes to mind is mouth frothing from drug use and poison.

you discover that Theo's child therapy patient is being sexually assaulted by her foster dad, and Theo experiences this through visions and kind of mimes the actions as it's implied what happened, but you don't explicitly see it actually happen.

Episode 8, Theo and Shirley are suprised by Nellie's ghost while driving, and spin off the road. They don't really crash though, and it's not a big deal, no one gets hurt

GRAPHIC SUICIDE. You watch it. It's realistic. You see the corpse with obvious Mark's of the suicide. You see a SECOND suicide after watching in a linear sequence as this person is gaslit into suicide. The victim says "I want to wake up". The gaslighter says, "Then wake up". Then they suicide. I haven't had ideation in over a year, and my brain still flooded with relief and gratitude when the gaslighter gave permission. It is BAD. Be aware. This "waking up" ideation is pretty common and dangerous. It's a turn of phrase they return to for the rest of the season. There's future gaslighting where an addict is told that the only way to ever really be clean is to be dead.

A drowning is vaguely referenced in ep 9. Not described in detail or made a relevant plot point.

there is a sex scene, but it's brief and the sexual acts happen out of the shot.

at one point, a man vaguely describes how in a drug-induced paranoia episode, he blinds himself with a sharp object, but none of it is shown on screen. but in last episode, you see someone's eyes melt. it's brief, but it is gross.

no actual teeth damaged but there is a scene with a character waking up with her mouth wired shut and she has to cut it open. pretty disturbing in my opinion

at 2 different times you see a beetle crawl out of a dead thing's mouth (at one point it's an animal, at another time it's a human).

Some of the crisis behaviors look like child abuse where the dad is yelling at the kids. As the mom gets less stable she engages in abusive interactions as well. In particular the incident with writing on the wall comes to mind.

It is implied that the father was gaslighting and assaulted the mother at a couple points. Not saying whether he was.
