In "Countdown to Catastrophe", after realizing his mistake (He didn't think that destroying and rebuilding San Fransokyo is wrong), he releases Baymax from his control, and stays in his underwater lab as it crumbles around him.
Hiro later searches for him, claiming that there was no way he could've survived. Baymax states that anything is possible.

The thing described in other comment is NOT body dysmorphia. It has nothing to do with transformation it's a mental health disorder where people hate their own bodies. I wish DtDD would put a definition to this.
