Marshall Jed Cooper survives a hanging, vowing revenge on the lynch mob that left him dangling. To carry out his oath for vengeance, he returns to his former job as a lawman. Before long, he's caught up with the nine men on his hit list and starts dispensing his own brand of Wild West justice.
Towards the end of the movie, Jed goes to find the remaining vigilantes and they send a dog out. The villains shoot the dog by mistake. It happens off screen but you then see it’s body lying there.
Rustlers run cattle too hard trying to escape the law and they show two dead that have died from exhaustion. Doesn’t happen on screen but they look pretty real and so it’s upsetting.
As the title of the film implies, there are numerous hangings throughout the film. These take the form of lynchings and gallows hangings of suspected outlaws.
