Yes. The focus of the series (and book) is Joe's obsession with Beck, a woman whom he casually meets, then stalks and eventually dates. [SPOILERS] Joe later kills Beck after she begins to discover his secrets. Although Joe is characterised as creepy and villainous, some viewers sympathise with him and describe him as a compelling, complex character. Some reviewers find that the show/book romanticises stalking, while others praise it as a cautionary tale that warns about the dangers of obsession. Regardless, if stalking could be a trigger for you, please take care.

Yes- this is the entire premise. Joe grows up in an abusive and neglectful environment from his parents and later by Mooney. He had no healthy example for love and care in his youth.

There is discussion of previous drug addiction; there is depiction of withdrawal; there is frequent comparison to obsession with a person and drug addiction.

In season two the childhood sexual abuse of an important character by the family's au pair is discussed multiple times. Another character is depicted as serially drugging and sexually assaulting young, typically underaged girls, taking pictures of them while they're unconscious. It shows him luring in the fifteen-year-old younger sister of a previous victim and giving her a drink spiked with GHB, but he is stopped from doing anything else to her.

season 3 episode 2 at around 30:40

[slight spoilers]

Joe has to break a woman’s finger to get a ring off. you can tell when he’s about to do it (he kinda vaguely implies needing to do it while talking to Love) so you have a few seconds to mute/look away or just skip ahead to 31:06. this very specific type of gore/body horror is a huge panic attack trigger for me and i luckily managed to catch it before it fully happened. good luck and stay safe everyone.
