I don't believe someone uses onscreen, but there is mention of drug use in phrases like "junkie," "dealer," "meth heads," and "possession." A cop follows a suspected user while he "makes a buy" (what he bought was not actually drugs, as it turned out). Mention of "stop and frisk."

Regular mentions of a drunk driving incident. Discussions in S1:E8 of supporting characters being "totally hammered," and the effects it had on their behavior.

A person is shown with progressive frostbite on his hands, otherwise, no.

In S1:E8, a person incurs a fatal injury, which involves the presumed breaking of bones. The action itself is not portrayed, and no bones are visible.

Besides the adult, Ben, a child is also kidnapped. A young woman is also held in captivity by her parents, in a tiny cell.

Nothing concrete, but lots of implicit emotional affairs. Michaela returns and her former boyfriend is now married, but ends up leaving his wife for her. Ben returns and his wife is now seeing someone, resulting in uncertainty about who is the baby's father when she gets pregnant.

The status of the 828 passengers versus other humans is unclear and references to them as "dead" or "back from the dead" are frequent

The other comment is a misattribution; the characters experience "callings," but they are in no way controlled or taken over by a thing or being. All characters act of their own volution. No possession occurs; "insights" occur.

Another emetiphobiac here. The character known as the “wolf” dies by drowning on land. He basically projectile vomit a massive amount of water in full view of the camera. It triggered me and I had nightmares for days. Do not recommend trying to just sit this one through or plugging your ears. Extensive audio and visual triggers. The “wolf” gets out of a car and on to a runway with people surrounding him. He gives a few signatures to people in the crowds, the stops walking. It’s when he stops walking that the triggers start. He is dead after this scene, so no worries after. Be careful, as the scene shows up in every “previously on” in all the future episodes. Hope this helps.

Mental institution scenes are not depicted, but side characters are mentioned on several occasions to have been transported to psychiatric facilities, both against and of their own will.

Not motivated by any prejudice or hate crime (e.g. homophobia, demonization of psychiatric illness).

The "callings" (which happen every episode) often include panic-attack-like anxiety symptoms.

No, there are maybe three scenes that I can think of over three seasons that happen in tight spaces. I am claustrophobic and handled them okay. They don't last long.

Not strobe lights, but there are many scenes with lightning, and sometimes items/people light up in a supernatural kind of way. These did not give me a migraine despite my sensitivity to light, but I did look away sometimes for a moment or two.

Occasional, minimal use of shakey cam when the extreme turbulence experienced by flight 828 is depicted (multiple episodes).

An LGBT side character, who is mentioned but we never meet/see, is said to have recently passed. Another LGBT character is very upset by this revelation.

Hate speech and hate groups against 828ers, a heavy metaphor for real-life marginalized people. The hate speeches used against the 828ers is very similar to real-life hate speech.

No... but if another network/service doesn't continue this after season 3 then things aren't wrapped up, either. So not sad, but you're left with questions unanswered.

Plane crash scenes occur frequently in "callings," though the "real world" plot does not include an actual plane crash.

In regular flashbacks, a character drives a car and crashes the car. In a single instance, a character causes a car to crash into a post.
