Season 1: Dogo convinces the lion guard to let him into the pride lands fooling them into thinking he is harmless and brings his whole tribe to attack on kupatana (the day of peace). Fuli likes eating alone and Timon and pumbaa pressure her into staying at their place for dinner and start petting her even though she doesn’t wanna be touched and doing things she doesn’t wanna do the whole lion guard tries to include her. Three animals report to the lion guard that they heard outlanders (antagonists) threatening them and there ends up being no scent or trace of them, the animals are still scared. Bunga sees the future and wants to warn Kion of the danger but he won’t listen. A zebra meets Bunga and says they’ve never met. Beshte has a friend who is scared and hides from the others and the lion guard make jokes about him having an imaginary friend and doubt him

Bones, skulls and a dead elephant’s body are shown (not graphic) and the hyenas threaten to eat the animals of the pride land often. The lion guard often get into deadly situations where they could be hurt but come out fine. S2E5 mention of scars death in the fire at pride rock. S2E6 Kion’s parents are threatened. S2E18 Scorpion stings Simba and he almost dies. S3E16 there is a warning pre-episode but some characters have to say goodbye to their grandmother/mother who closes her eyes to signify passing, there is lots of crying and mourning. There is a scene where it is implied her body is under a blanket of flowers and leaves but nothing is shown. There is also a scene where kion goes to describe what scar did to mufasa but is cut off. S3E20 kovus mother passed and it is mentioned briefly. Scars death is mentioned briefly multiple times.

Season 1: Janja calls his “dumb” sidekicks “fur brains” often and basically tells them to shut up constantly, even putting his paw over their mouth at one point. The sidekicks talk in slurred words and one of them has crossed eyes and hangs his young ur out which feels like a mockery. Sarcasm is used towards Bunga and he thinks he’s serious and it’s played off like he’s “dumb”. Omo says something that might not be common knowledge and then says “it’s common knowledge really”. Timon and Pumbaa call baby Bunga “loopier than a snake squeezing his supper”. Bunga’s name means foolish in Swahili. Fuli calls herself “lame”. There is a song about how you can be anything which can be triggering to disabled people. “Drongo” is used in reference to the bird not the slur. Kiara jokes that Bunga is driving Simba “crazy”. Kion says “not good enough” which might be triggering to some. S2E25 Zuri says “how can he get us anywhere, i dont think he has eyes” to a blind golden mole. S3 ono faces internalized ableism and makini becomes overprotective of him, Makini is also ADHD/Autism coded and usually treated like she’s “annoying” or “too much”. S3E14 Ono’s sight is healed.
“Lame” and “dumb” are used frequently.
(I personally also think adding “speaks foreign language” when it’s a catchphrase in Swahili, to captions to be ableist and racist imo)

Often species are made the butt of the joke or stereotypes example; when a baboon is stubborn “ugh baboons” or when Kion thinks a hyena is bad just for being a hyena. This could be seen as racism/specism. Bunga is made fun of for being stinky, “Crazy” is used . A zebra calls Bunga a mongoose and a hedgehog. Bunga (ND coded) falls into a sinkhole with Simba, Simba gets annoyed at Bunga for not “thinking before he acts” and Nala calls Bunga “Trying”. Mapigano bullies Badili for being smaller and “weak” and kicks him out of his home. Two hyenas are constantly picked on, mocked, called “fur brains” and eventually fired for being too “incompetent” by their leader. S1E20 Zuri says “Does my nose look big to you” Tiifu says “no it looks pretty” implying big noses are ugly. S2E18 there are paintings recalling Timon and pumbaas offensive “hula” dance which is culturally appropriating very and offensive. S2E22 The hula thing is brought up again
