A cow does though. He puts her on top of the well cover and then let’s her fall in. She doesn’t die right away and Moo’s loudly for like 30 seconds before he shots her and the noise stops. They bring it up a few times after.

A cow is dropped into a well and shot about 37 minutes in. Wilferd and Henry are discussing filling in the well and how suspicious it might look. The scene in question follows when they are leading the cow to the well. Feel free to skip to the next scene.
A rat is stomped to death gruesomely. This happens shortly after Wilferd mortgages his house. He is reaching into the closet and a rat bites him which he flings suddenly to the ground and stomps repeatedly. The entire scene begins at 1:06:45 and the stomping ends about 1:07:13.

Would not recommend this movie if you do not like rats. Not related to bugs but figured I’d add this comment. LOTS of rats and some scenes with them are gross due to decomposing bodies.

I don't know about copaganda, but there's a sheriff involved who looks into the wife's death. He seemed to trust the father and was only doing it bc it was his job, didn't look into it very well. (It also said that if wives disappeared, the attitude was that the wife was the husband's business)

There is no actual sexual content but the mother does describe to her son while drunk to only “rub up against” his girlfriend till he climaxes but she says it in a really gross way that I don’t even want to repeat.
