A cop who loses his partner in a shoot-out with gun smugglers goes on a mission to catch them. In order to get closer to the leaders of the ring he joins forces with an undercover cop who's working as a gangster hitman. They use all means of excessive force to find them.

Not sure where else to put this, but a major part of the film takes place in a hospital, and there's a maternity ward full of babies who are imperiled--many instances of babies nearly in the middle of gunfights, nearly being dropped from unsafe distances, or nearly being in the radius of fireballs. It seems that the babies all survive, however.

The protagonist and his former girlfriend are broken up at the start of the movie, but he repeatedly refers to her as his current girlfriend and generally makes it clear that as far as he's concerned, they're still together. She doesn't seem happy about this, and although they've patched things up by the end of the movie, I was uncomfortable watching those early scenes.

During one of the action sequences, Alan shoots a fellow cop by mistake. Immediately afterward, Tequila insists "that's bullshit" and "you're hallucinating" even though Alan saw the cop's ID. In the very next scene though, Tequila does admit that he was lying.

The film opens with a shoot out in a restaurant filled with birds in cages. While you don't see any of the birds die, lots of cages are shot and destroyed and it seems unlikely the birds inside would have lived.
