Madeline is canonically a trans woman, and the lead dev of the game turned out to be transfeminine herself. However, this part of her identity isn't at the forefront of the game's themes, so discrimination based on it isn't shown.

Yes, but it is shown not to be related to the mental illness. They just happen to be mentally ill, and driven to violence for things that...most people frankly could be driven to violence because of.

There is...depending on how you read it, unambiguous plurality in this game. It is handled very well. Some even go so far as to describe the game as a host and tormentor having to exist together. The plural representation is honestly some of the best we have ever seen, and has helped us learn a lot about ourselves

There is a very lengthy scene where the main character has a panic attack in a ski lift because it's too small, and too dangerous. this is part of the game's larger themes about recovery.

Celeste the main game has the option to disable strobe effects in its menus. There is an arcade version of Celeste available within the game that does NOT allow you to disable the flashing lights, and even flashes pretty badly. The arcade version is entirely optional and doesn't add anything.

Your main companion, Theo, is a black man who survives to the very end of the story and is featured in post-game art spending time with Madeline. At most, he's trapped in a magic crystal and has to be carried to safety by someone else, implied to be a manifestation of his own anxieties.
