Almost no dogs in movie. Only one in a brief shot at end of movie of a bunch of people walking down street after a storm and one is walking a dog. The narrator mentions in damage storm, someone we don't know, their dog had died in the storm which is a thought i could do without but we don't see it at all.

the movie starts after the main character's father dies. we see his wife and son in the cemetery at his headstone. we don't see him die on screen, but his death is present in the film and kicks off the plot. another character’s mother is dead and she talks about her death but it is not seen.
