No outright pedophilia, but there are a few lines that rub me the wrong way, all referencing the young girl Michael befriends. The teacher refers to her as his “special little girlfriend” in front of the whole class, despite them being seemingly platonic. When Michael tells his dad that he made a friend, the dad asked if she was pretty. And at some point, the girl herself says to Michael “I like that in a man”. I just feel like it’s an icky way to write about a ~10 year old girl

It's ambiguous whether or not they are actual cannibals for most of the film until the son and his friend discover a corpse hidden in the basement, confirming his fears.
