A horse is punched and hit a bunch of times. It's just one scene so if you close your eyes right when the main character Roman gets knocked to the ground and only open them again when the scene goes silent you'll miss it. It's about 20-30 minutes in.
The rest of the film only has slightly grumpy horses and none of them are abused or die.
