Nichijou: My Ordinary Life

Anime • 2002 • Comedy

Report
Yanks Tanks is a first look at the phenomenon of classic American cars in Cuba. Like an exotic, endangered species, these colorful cars roam around this island paradise trapped in a 1950's time warp. As beacons of individuality in a sea of government conformity they represent freedom for those who own them. Owners who will do almost anything to keep them running. Seeing these old cars in recent films and photographs one wonders how they have maintained them after decades with no spare parts and an embargo by the United States.

Children are hit by their parents or have martial arts techniques used on them. This is portrayed in an over-the-top and comedic manner and has no lasting consequences.

To comedic effect, with no permanent consequences. In one scene, for example, martial arts is performed on a deer. It happens to a goat in another scene. A cat falls for a trap in which a pool superglue is left on the floor.

Characters comedically make noises like they're struggling to breathe for slapstick humor. Sakamoto (a cat) often gets squished also for cartoon humor.

There are scenes in which a human-like robot character's digit sometimes comes off or flips up like a cap, much to her dismay. This is comedic and not graphic.

Sometimes the camera shakes a little during certain scenes to punctuate the action, but it doesn't last longer than a shot or two.

Very little, and is fairly mild—one character draws yaoi, but it is cropped. Romantic themes occur throughout the show.

Strictly for comedic effect, with no consequences. Someone can briefly be seen being robbed.
