A dog (seemingly the family pet) appears in the first episode and greets the protagonist's husband when he arrives home. Unclear if he or she comes to harm as I ceased to watch the series from this point
Stigmatised language used in episode 2 about someone being “borderline” (short for someone with BPD) and reference to them making things up.
Also episode 4 mentions the same person as “classic borderline” after describing that she burnt her family home down after becoming obsessed with her psychologist (though it’s quite clear the psychologist is using gaslighting to shift her own responsibility - for unprofessional and illegal behaviour- to her patient), but no one objects to the stigmatising labelling.
Episode 5, a patient is referred to as “the bulimic”
Main character appears to have a dependency on anxiety meds - she takes them regularly, steals a prescription pad from a friend and a handful of pills from someone else’s bathroom.
Depends on your threshold for alcohol “abuse”, but there is a lot of drinking, and multiple scenes show the main character having many drinks (and the people around her making comments or giving her looks when she finishes yet another glass).
I can’t determine is she’s an alcoholic but she does to rely on it to some degree
Near the beginning of episode 1, the main character is walking across the street and a cab comes speeding down the road out of nowhere and almost hits her
In ep 1, Jean has sex with her husband. In ep 2, Jean masturbates and thinks about Sydbey (it looks like she imagines Sydney having sex with Sam but you don't actually see that)
