An adult man marries a teen girl but it is made clear that his motive is financial not sexual. The girl would be considered a child today but during the time period the film is set she would be considered an adult. Because of this, the reactions of other characters may seem flippant to a modern audience but also mean that pedophilia is not discussed in relation to the storyline.

It wouldn't be seen like that during the regency era (so the characters don't respond to it as such) but a 15 year old's elopement with an adult man would be considered kidnapping today.

There is a scene where characters shoot at birds for sport. It is not shown that they hit anything.
