Inspired by true events, this film takes place in Rwanda in the 1990s when more than a million Tutsis were killed in a genocide that went mostly unnoticed by the rest of the world. Hotel owner Paul Rusesabagina houses over a thousand refuges in his hotel in attempt to save their lives.
This movie contains 12 potentially triggering events.
Not onscreen, but it happened widely during the genocide and there is a brief scene halfway through the film of women in a sort of cage without any clothes on.
A time stamp would be appreciated, all of the things here are a big issue for me but this one’s probably the worst one and I’d like to know when to look away/plug my ears (I need to watch it for school)
During the scene after Paul sees something very disturbing, as he is changing in the hotel, he collapses to the ground and starts crying and heavily breathing. It’s evident he was having a panic attack. It is about 15 seconds long and about halfway through the film.
There is a scene when two characters go to pick up supplies that implies that women are going to be raped (we see them in a cage-like area without any clothes on), but I don’t think we don’t see assault on camera
