Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is the third novel in J.K. Rowling's fantasy series, following Harry's third year at Hogwarts, where he learns about the escaped mass murderer Sirius Black, who is believed to be hunting him, leading Harry, Ron, and Hermione to uncover secrets about Black's past and his connection to Harry's parents.

I would argue that the mechanics of dementor exposure, as described in the book, are definitely a form of torture. However, it is not specifically called torture. This form of extreme psychological/emotional punishment is specifically applied to people we know to be innocent, including children, in this book.
