Some people have sex under the influence of alien pheremones that influence their decision making. The alien giving off the pheremones is aware of this effect and doesn't inform anyone but pursues sex with them anyway, repeatedly.

One alien species divorces by stabbing each other with a knife

SPOILERS AHEAD

S3e7 an alien with very intense strength bc of greater gravity on her home planet has a sexual relationship with a human that results in many injuries to him. This is played for laughs throughout the episode, but there's a very dark scene about 18 min before the end of the ep where the woman (talla) is in bed crying about the relationship having to end. When the camera pans out we see the man (john) in bed with her with an extremely bloodied, bruised, and swollen face and body. This is played for laughs but it is very, very dark and this moment in particular with its graphic depiction of bloody injuries was very upsetting to watch. The button on the joke is him spitting out bloody teeth, which is also very upsetting.

Also s3e7 there's a kind of upsetting dynamic when claire gives isaac an ultimatum to undergo the alteration to feel emotions bc isaac didn't want this but did it for her.

I suppose the captain is gaslighted about how he got his job, but it's more like a "lie by omission" type of thing.

In season 3/New Horizons episode 8 a child is tortured. The child had arguably been abused by one of her fathers in previous episodes (certainly verbally, at the least).

Starts when they’re all in the conference room. First part is a lot of tarantulas which starts around 25:30, and ends around 26:00 when Ed opens the gun compartment. Around 27:00 Gordon starts talking about them, not the nicest, ends around 27:20. Last part is around 27:45, Alara and Gordon are stood still talking, elevator doors open to reveal a big CGI spider, this ends around 28:20 when Alara is running alone in the corridor. All good for the rest of the episode.

S1e12 lots of cutting hands and arms slowly and on camera - aliens who believe cutting open wounds is a way to see if their god will heal it, kind of like salem witch trials

People frequently die in ship explosions in battle scenes, typically w ship bursting into flames, but no specific onscreen person on fire that I recall. There is a moment in s2e3 where someone is forced at gunpoint to badly scald their hand in boiling liquid and we see the burnt hand afterwards.

S3e7 during sex, john breaks many bones - we hear vivid sound effects throughout the episode

Earlier in early s2 when ed is on selaya, the gravity breaks his shins and we hear sound effects

Generally broken bones are easily fixed in this universe and time so they happen with frequency

S2e2 the ship can save less than half the s2e2 survivors of a small colony about to be destroyed by a star, and the refugees draw lots. Many children are left behind and die.

S3e14 in alternate timeline it's implied topa dies

Also s3e6 there's a time travel situation where they erase a kid from the timeline, so sort of depends on your interpretation of their quantum mechanics explanations

S3e7 kaylon kills his builder family including 2 kids, but after we see them mercilessly torture him

SPOILER s3e9 charlie sacrifices herself to blow up the device when it can't be shut down, preventing genocide

Also it's a show w a lot of war in space scenes where folks work in a military capacity and are on ships or shuttles or fighter planes that get blown up by enemy fire. S3e9 we see at least 3 fighter pilots lose their lives in battle.

S1 E2- Alara vomits due to nerves @ 12mins after drinking a shot a tequila. Off screen. No visuals but graphic sound.

S1 E11- John is sick several times around 38mins (goes for about 30secs) when the shuttle towing the Orville transitions into 2D space. No visuals but graphic audio.

S3 E3- Bortus looks like he is going to be sick around 31mins in when the Orville is doing rapid evasive manuvoures in space. But he doesn't.

S3 E7- Around 55mins in John gags and spits up blood and teeth. Not technically vomit but pretty triggering.

Well in s3e6 SPOILER leighton meester is pregnant but then they go and remove gordon from earlier in the timeline against her and gordon's wishes and we don't know exactly what happens to that timeline but if it disappears rather than splitting into an alternate universe, then in a way a pregnant lady dies. Either way, it's emotional and sad.

The moclans are a homonormative alien culture and many episodes explore their prejudice, which are allegories for our own culture's heteronormativity and prejudice, including slurs and cruel language.
