Whatever she does, Eunhee feels like an outsider. Then her new Chinese teacher turns out to be so utterly different from everybody else. A compassionate and meticulously told narrative of a seemingly regular summer that leaves nothing unchanged.

This is a slice-of-life movie about a young girl who comes from an abusive home. The abuse is not graphic and not incredibly severe, but it's sad. There's no sexual abuse. Specifics: Eunee's brother beats her (one scene where we hear hitting behind a closed door, and one scene where he slaps her face hard), while her parents are more uncaring and verbally abusive (eg. angrily berating her for getting bad grades and saying there's "something wrong with her").
