Skeksis are seen eating live creatures, one stabs a turtle like creature in the neck and kills it before eating it. It dies on screen. Basically skeksis kill stuff all throughout the show. A small furry creature dies on screen but is brought back to life shortly later.

In general skeksi are awful to all other creatures of their world and you see this constantly. A small helpless creature in a cage is choked nearly to death on screen, it survives though.

The Arathim are a race of sentient arachnids and they feature heavily throughout the series. One does appear in the first episode, so you can see if it will bother you.

I would say the ending of S1 is bittersweet, with the Gelfling sowing the seeds of the Skeksis' eventual defeat, but taking heavy losses. My answer is somewhat influenced by the original film and knowing the fate of the Gelflings.

As KatG pointed out, there’s all sorts of grossness and bodily fluids from the Skeksis (pus, spit, etc.) including a very long, very gross urination scene.

Not abused, but a Gelfling toddler gets possessed and ends up in dangerous/ scary situations all by themselves. It’s slightly hard to watch if you are sensitive to small children in distress. They end up okay though, alive and well at the end of S1.

The Skeksis show somewhat addictive behavior towards a substance called Essence, which they are willing to kill for (they’re willing to kill most things for their own pleasure/needs) and constantly demanding more of... However, the depiction of addiction is more allegorical than overt.

It’s a very high fantasy world and all the characters are puppets so there's no traditional gore, but there is plenty of gross/disturbing occurrences, including animals and characters being devoured/eaten alive (which should really be a category, omg!) exploding, getting stabbed to death etc.

A minor character is stabbed to death off screen, but you do see their “blood” being spattered.
